Guy Torry is an actor and comedian known for his roles in movies like Don't be a Menace, American History X, Life, and Pearl Harbor, as well as his appearances on television series like Martin, The Strip, X-Files and NYPD Blue.
However he is best known as an incredibly funny stand-up comic performing on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam, and the founder of Phat Tuesday's at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, CA. An influential 90's comedy showcase that helped launch the careers of some of the most famous Black comedians in the industry.
In 2022 his docuseries Phat Tuesdays: The Era of Hip Hop Comedy premiered on Amazon and beautifully depicts this time period featuring Guy, his brother and fellow actor and comedian Joe Torry, Dave Chappelle, Luenell, Tiffany Haddish, Regina King, and so many more.
